Wish Ghost

The Revenant, 1949, Andrew Wyeth

Wish Ghost

As if winking could    undo

unmake

return the past

as if fading out            detail

                                    crispness

line

could induce               forgetfulness

forgiveness

A future of honey and stasis

The sweetest roses have barbs

thanks to Tess for the prompt and picture

Love your formatting of this poem. Poetry has a visual side that we often step around on the internet because blogs can so mess up that format - especially when linked or networked.

Nice Magpie

Love this...there are those who think they can erase their errors with a wink and a phrase and the passage of time

As one who never plays with form like this, I want to admire the crisp and clear way form works for you in this poem.

Excellent poem! The past is always the past, but forgiveness is always good!
