"Swearing great hope, the exiled risk across the globe,
and dream of riches and revenge." -- Spes Fallax -- Lucius Annaeus Seneca or pseudo-Seneca, trans Doyle --
Umbrellas indeed, but the shape of these trees also reminds me of those lollies you can by on a stick, red umbrella shaped, hard boiled sweets that you can suck on for hours. Very British, the tress that is not the sweets.
Always a stunning sight - so well kept.Happy Birthday to your Dad:-)
Very stately umbrellas ... thank you for sharing!
I think they look like toadstools!
I think that they look like little old men ... wonderful little old men.Isabel let me know please if you are still unable to navigate to me. Thanks, Liz ... Oh, marvelous trees! Wonders if someone still has to trim these trees in this shape? Look like giant green mushrooms too! Reminds me of my bonsai tree that moulted and then told me how it wanted to grow! Plant intelligence?
