Statue to Physical Energy

'Physical Energy' GF Watts, Kensington Gardens, London

Statue to Physical Energy

How can a statue be physical energy?
That artist rearing in the saddle against the stallion rearing against the earth

How can bronze breathe and thrust?
That horse snort in fury?
The bare foot warrior on his mount
Flings words at the sky

I love this how you went from statue to actually horse's thoughts. Great imagery!

Wonderful, Isabel. Stunning, Picasso-esque statue and your poetic astonishment at it.

I hear the energy through these words.

Isn't this just amazing how the artists can turn marble or bronze into something that lives. I don't get it. I wish I did. I do get your poem though and I will admire that for now.

A great capture of the moment, when objects come to life and show their secrets.

Your words and the images of the statue, astounding. I have never seen GF Watts before. Never sculpture like this. It is alive. Thank you for sharing.

Until I saw the photo, to the questions in the poem I would have answered 'impossible'. But now, not only possible but obviously and dramaticall;y real!
