The Celestial Tea Party
All the young gods were there –
bring a plate the invitation read
So we did: figs and olives,
and those little honey cakes Artemis loves
finely curled fish cucumbers and dianthus crystal sweets
What we didn’t dream of was Dionysius and his ‘tea’
And after the party, we’ve been picking crockery from the sky
for years

I like grape tea! (Wouldn't have minded being at that party!)

Superb, just that: superb.
I didn't see a teapot until you pointed it out:-)
A fine party, but what a hangover...
I love this tea party with the gods - and the broken crockery+photo is sheer genius. :)
I do like the direction you took the prompt in.
Absolutely delightful.
Ah, Dionysius and his tea parties. A clever take on the pic.

A grand tea party indeed....what a unique and cool write!!
This is so wonderful!
As rich in form and texture as the painting that inspired it!
Ha ha--this is great! Shame on Dionysus!
