Clouds

Sir Daryl Lindsay, 'Landscape Myrniong', NGV The Joseph Brown Collection
photograph by Isabel

Clouds

I saw a cloud on the drive north
a moustache hovering over an empty hill
a classically curved bow
implying a pair of lips pursed
to kiss the land

Lovely on two counts, Isabel, both the painting and the words. It's funny how landscape can evoke such images, as a moustache and curved lips, as if the land becomes a face.

Perfectly parsed and pursed!

I like it very much.

You've conjured a wonderful word image to complement the landscape. I like the idea of 'lips pursed to kiss the land.'

Clouds are painters of magic...

There's nothing sweeter than a cloud kiss... except someone attentive enough to notice (like you).

What a lovely idea "a cloud kissing the land."
