Two Islands

Two Islands

we are two islands in a red sea
drifting in circles, in the glow of the sun
drunk on some potion – call it love, or lust
I prefer to see the Universe arranging us to order
swirling in some galactic wine glass
my lipstick on your rim
your fingers on my stem

they said it wouldn’t last

clever and charming, a vixen of a poem. and the photograph works so well: slightly decadent, it invites you to investigate further.

cheers to you!

If you can't love a wine glass (in this manner) what can you love..? Beautifully done.

So imaginative and creative! I love the image of the universe causing two islands to drift in circles in a red sea. The narrator then steps back a bit and sees the wine glass for what it is--closer now, connection... Smart and sexy, Isabel!

Nice poem, seeing romance is a glass of wine! And wine I guess always had some connection to romance.
