Egg-Moon

The moon has two yellow eyes
and a crunchy brown hat
rising in a willow sky
chanting: eat me, eat me, eat me!

The most beautiful description of that plate imaginable.

I wish I could have read it without having seen the picture.

I agree with MAS, the picture robs the words of their power, without the picture are even more evocative.

This must be the most charming tribute to eggs on toast ever.

Lovely imagery! I think you did well to clear the plate;-)

Good job, Isabel. Now others can enjoy the uncluttered beauty of your words.

Mind you I liked the look of that plate. Found myself wondering whose teeth bit the hole out of the egg.

Yes, yes! I saw the toast as hair, the yolk winking back at me. Nicely done!!

Did you enjoy the eggs and toast as much as I enjoyed the poem?

This is a lovely ode to the plate and its occupants...but I would most likely keep it on display than use it. Thanks for visiting .
